Group Perfume Workshop

Step into a space where curiosity, creativity, and scent come together. Led by Audra Rodgers, perfumer and founder of Artifact Aromatics, this workshop is a hands-on, sensory experience designed to help you explore the world of fragrance in a way that feels personal, relaxed, and genuinely fun.

This isn’t just a class, it’s a meaningful way to celebrate, connect, and make something truly your own. Perfect for birthdays, date nights, small groups, retreats, work teams, wedding parties, or anyone visiting Taos who wants a unique local experience.

The Experience

You’ll spend the session in a creative studio environment surrounded by natural materials, curious aromatics, and the tools of the trade. It’s a space made for slowing down, smelling deeply, and tapping into your imagination.

Expect an experience that feels part craft, part chemistry, part story-building.

You set the pace and follow your nose while Audra provides guidance, support, and gentle structure throughout the process.

The workshop includes:

  • A sensory tour through raw materials

  • A simple history of perfumery

  • An introduction to perfume-building in clear, approachable terms

Learn the essentials

You’ll get familiar with classic fragrance families and how each one behaves, from soft and airy to dark and grounding. We walk through how to build balance, shape a mood, and create a structure that feels like you.

Explore raw materials

Smell through a curated selection of aromatic ingredients, including:

  • Natural botanicals and plant extracts

  • Resins, woods, and earthier bases

  • A small collection of rare or unusual materials for educational purposes

Sip & Scent

Enjoy tea, sparkling drinks, or bring your own beverage while you blend. The atmosphere is relaxed, cozy, and conversation-friendly.

Details

  • Hands-on experience with individual guidance

  • Each guest leaves with a 10 ml glass bottle of their finished scent

  • Cost: $150 per person for groups of up to 8.

  • Please arrive scent-free

Important to Know

This workshop is about creating a new, personal fragrance in the moment, not replicating commercial perfumes. We can take inspiration from what you enjoy, but natural materials behave differently than synthetic formulas and won’t duplicate mass-market scents.

You’ll leave with a fragrance that is uniquely yours, crafted with intention.

The studio is up a flight of stairs and there is no elevator. If the stairs will hinder your ability to participate in the class, please email me ahead of time and we can make arrangements to have the class held in a more accessible space.
